BIO

I have had an interest in faceting since I was 9 years old. I would see the people at small gemshows demonstrate faceting and be totally enamored. I had been told I was too young to work with any of the rockclub machinery and was not allowed to try faceting, or even be in the same room as a running machine. When I was 12 years old, I joined a rock club in WA. There was a retired gentleman that was willing to teach anyone at any age how to facet. I immediately took the opportunity, and with my parents' permission got his information so we could set up a lesson. After my first lesson I knew that I wanted to continue faceting. For my 13th birthday my parents gave me my own machine, and I got more adventurous. I started teaching myself how to cut new gems, shapes, and techniques (with the help of online mentors). I am positive that I want to do faceting as a career for the rest of my life. My family has helped me create an LLC and build my ecommerce presence, and together we are excited to learn more about the Gem industry.

WHY OREGON SUNSTONE?

If I am being honest; I used to be scared of working with Oregon Sunstones. I had a bad experience with chipping when I first started, shortly after I got my own machine I decided I wanted to try them again and once I understood how to read the stone I loved it! I was born, and grew up in Oregon for most of my life and Oregon Sunstones remind me of the exquisite sunsets we used to get on the coast. I also love the unique schiller in the stone, because this truly separates it from being anything like any other gem. I love that it cuts quickly, and smooth like butter.
